About This Indicator
The Gaussian Channel is a smoothed trend filter (Ehlers 4-pole Gaussian filter, 144-period) plotted on weekly BTC closes, with upper/lower bands sized by filtered volatility. The mid filter line is colored green while it's rising (bull regime) and red while it's falling (bear regime) — since the filter is heavily smoothed, this color has historically flipped close to actual cycle tops and bottoms rather than on short-term noise. 50-week and 200-week EMAs are also plotted as widely-used long-term trend references.

Data Sources
- Bitcoin price: CoinGecko API via backend price history, resampled from daily closes into weekly bars.
- Calculation: 4-pole Gaussian filter, 144-week sampling period, 1.414x band multiplier, plus 50-week and 200-week EMAs (each seeded with a matching-length SMA) — computed entirely from existing price history, no separate external data source required.
